Wine Event:
DrinkWell: Zinfandel
Sunday, February 6th 4pm-6:30pm at The Croft Downtown
“Sippin California Zin in AZ”
Arizona welcomes California’s Dry Creek Valley to showcase their exquisite Zinfandel wines from some of the most prominent wineries in Sonoma County, at DrinkWell: Zinfandel – Phoenix. The event is being held at The Croft Downtown Sunday, February 6th from 4pm – 6:30pm. The evening calls on you to sample the wines alongside delectable bites prepared by Food Network star and, one of the Valley’s top chefs, Beau MacMillan. MacMillan is the Culinary Director of the new Mediterranean restaurant, Cala inside the Senna House in Old Town Scottsdale, and the Culinary Advisor for the Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley. The event also presents the fabulous finger foods prepared by Lee Kamber of Thaily’s, an ethnic restaurant in Chandler featuring Cambodian and Arab cuisine.
DrinkWell: Zinfandel will highlight sixteen wineries from the Dry Creek Valley, a beautiful wonderland of vineyards in Sonoma County. The region, with its rich history in grape growing, consists of 9,000 vineyard acres, over 70 wineries, one deli, and no stoplights in an area that is only 16 miles long and 2 miles wide. In-spite-of its tiny size, the Dry Creek Valley is a premier travel destination and, they are bringing their wines to Arizona for you to enjoy. They are most notable for their robust Zinfandel wine, some still made from old vines, still producing fruit, from the gold rush period. We Zonies are lucky to have this opportunity to experience the different wine maker’s styles and, subtle nuances from fruit of varying plots of land.
The winegrowers of the Dry Creek Valley want you to know they are dubbing 2022 the official year to drink well. As a Certified Sommelier, I’ll drink to that. I’ve always been of the mindset to be good to oneself and embrace all good things in life. In my opinion, wine is most certainly at the top of that list.
During a time when traveling can be a challenge, we are fortunate that DrinkWell: Zinfandel is coming to the valley. While getting on a plane to make that trip you’ve been dreaming about may still not be possible for everyone right now – we can take advantage of this occasion to transport our minds somewhere else, hassle-free — to drink fine wine.
Tickets are available for $75 per person or $280 for four ~ that’s a discount of $5 per ticket when you bring your friends! Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
